As Renault's third top-seller in Australia, the light-class Clio is a significant player for the company. The cute, five star rated five-door hatch comes in five states of trim: Life, Intens, GT-Line, Zen and Premium, plus the butt-kicking RS series (200 Sport, 200 Sport Premium, 200 Cup IV and 220 Trophy). The base engine is a tiny, characterful 66kW/135Nm 898cc three-cylinder turbo, followed by an 88kW/190Nm 1.2-litre four-cylinder, then to a 147kW/240Nm 1.6-litre (RS 200), and to the top-spec 162kW/260Nm 1.6-litre used in the RS 220 Trophy. A six-speed dual-clutch auto is used in all except the base Life model's five-speed manual.
